If you want to run SCS compression on a oversized bar you will have to remove the slit from your handlebars. Cutting off the slit would shorten the bar which is not ideal. Longway have made a adapter which will go into aluminium or titanium oversized bars keeping the bars the same length. It is as simple as hammering the insert into the bottom of the bars, turning them into SCS.
If you change your mind in the future and wanted the bars to be HIC again the adapter can be hard to remove.
