Raising Money for Great Ormond Street Hospital

We’re having another Charity Day here at ATBShop Skate Warehouse, this one’s on Wednesday 17th of February and as always it’s going to be amazing!!

As always with our fun charity days here at the park, there’s a really good reason behind why we are running one. This time we are doing our bit for the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

One of our long standing scooter riders Reece Vellender has been really brave recently with many hospital visits and operations. Reece has a rare genetic disorder which means he has soft tissue in his zonules in his eye. (The zonules are like lots of tiny elastic bands which keep you lens in place) This part of his eye is weak and he cannot hold his eye lens open correctly. He’s already had his left natural eye lens removed and his right eye lens is now subluxated.

The long and sort of this is that Reece will need to visit GOSH every 3 months for the rest of his young life until he’s an adult and then will have to continue this 3 month treatment into his adult years at another hospital unless they ever find a cure.

So this is the part where you guys jump in!!

As always we are after mums, dads, grandparents, guardians and riders to help on the day by riding as 50% of your park entry fee will go straight to the charity or by baking for the (almost) world famous ATBShop cake stall! We on average make £60-100 on the cake stall alone so the more we bake the more we make for GOSH. If you’d like to help let Diana – the event organiser know via email or in store. You can email her at diana@atbshop.co.uk

There will be loads happening on the day including fun prizes, competitions and games for all the sessions plus there will be a Big BBQ on the day so make sure you don’t eat before you ride… Get two burgers or sausages for just £1.50!!

Make sure you are a part of the day which is divided into three sessions, 10am to 12pm for the 10 and unders and then mixed sessions from 12pm to 3pm and 3pm to 6pm.

Please please please tell all your mates to come down and support us on the day by either making cakes or by riding, this way we can make some much needed cash for the kids at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
