ATBShop 18th Birthday recap

Massive thanks to all who came along to our ATBShop 18th Birthday party on the 22nd of September 2018!

So what happened at the ATBShop 18th Birthday?

We had around 400 people descend on the park over the entire day. It was lovely to see so many families’ stay with their children that day. Normally parents drop off their children at the park to ride and then go but so many of the activities were free that parents brought long other siblings to join in as well – making this an incredible family event for all!

Yes it was wet but it was soooo much fun and nothing we couldn’t handle as Brits! We had to change a couple of activity’s around due to the weather but this went down a storm as we brought in the inflatable Nerf shooting gallery. The Nerf shoot out was a huge success with the kids bringing in their own Nerf guns to use as well.

As you can see from the photos all ages were enjoying these activities!

We also had Justin Smythe and Ben Gregory running our free Graffiti Workshop all day. They were able to help produce some amazing artworks with all the park riders and their families thanks to Street Games. All of the artwork could be taken home and kept which was pretty epic!

As you can see they all turned out so well!

Thanks to Travel Choice Swindon for the loan of the smoothie bike and also to Street Games for providing free fruit and milk for this activity. We were able to make and give away hundreds of free smoothies and chocolate banana milk shakes for all! Another family friendly activity which was all free for everyone to enjoy. A Massive thanks to Tamara C who gave up her time voluntary to run this activity all day!

As you can see the Tie Dye station went down well with everyone buying T-Shirts to Dye on the day. If you missed out there is still an opportunity to buy on line. Either keep them white or request for them to be dyed. Sizes are now limited but you can click this link and still by one while stocks last. Again another thanks to Sam Frith and Ant Wilson for running this stall for us in the cold for the entire day!

The Free BBQ and popcorn went down a treat as well with hundreds of burgers being eaten over the day thanks to one of our longest standing friends volunteering to cook all day! Julian Cooke or “Cookie” as he’s been lovingly known did a fab job of keep the crowds full and happy!

Thanks to Roots longboards for popping down for the day – showing their support and thanks to the Concrete crew and AO team for riding the park with all the scooter kids and running comps! And thanks to our scooter sponsors District, Grit, Phoenix and Dominator for supplying all the scooter prizes.

Also a huge thanks to Shiner Distribution, TKC sales and also Rock Solid for all their skate prizes! We had Birdhouse and Mini Logo decks to give away. Mini logo bearings, Diamond bolts and hats to give away. Plus clothing and vouchers and wheels from PlanB!

If you bought a raffle ticket then good luck for the 29th of September when it will be drawn! We’ve been given some amazing prizes thanks to Freedog Swindon, The Swindon Link Centre, Laser Quest and other amazing Swindon companies so good luck everyone! We managed to raise just under £100 for El Gouna Street dogs! Watch out for Diana visiting this October to gift them the money!

An ATBShop Event wouldn’t’ be an event with out Dom Etchells DJing all day, Joe, Luke and Karen working in the shop selling and serving coffee! A one last massive thank you to all of those who helped out on the day and of course to all of you guys for coming along and making it one epic birthday! Untill next year!
