Game of SKATE in ATBShop’s Skate Warehouse – Week 1

ATBShop Skate Warehouse Game Of Skate

Last Friday we had our first game of SKATE at ATBShop’s Skate Warehouse Skate Park. We held it for both scooters and skateboards and had categories for all ages.

In the scooters we held both Amateur and Professional categories so that everyone had a fair chance. We saw some sick tricks go down in the am comp, best trick to go down has to have been Mark Bradford’s Blunt slide across the mini, super slick style and consistent. With Jack Whitson pulling textbook handplants wherever the eye could see and Pete Warren pulling deck grabs here there and everywhere. In the end Mark Bradford pulled through to claim the win.

Next up, the Professionals. Including the likes of Chris Watts, Ira Rumble-Low and, Connor Baskerville. Some sick tricks were sure to go down. Ira and Baskey were pulling huge tech combos around the park, with Chris Watts taking some serious air time. It all ended in an instant death match between Chris Watts and Local shredder Joe Hamilton. Joe won the roshambo and instantly went for the game killer, a flair on the six, Chris didn’t look the most pleased but Joe went away grinning and with the win.

With the skateboards we didn’t both with categories, all we wanted to do was just skate. We started off with a flat land game of skate, Berrics Rules. Some insane flatland wizardry went down, from Pete Case’s fakie late back foot flip madness, to Kieran Hamblin’s uber popped Hardflips. The tricks were insane. Connor Skene came through with mad consistency, throwing out his entire trick roster faultlessly without a seconds thought.

The final match was between Pete Case, Billy Steinmann and, Connor Skene. Some serious bangers went down. Pete Case was the first to go out, leaving Connor and Billy. After seeing almost every flip and one eighty combination go down, Hoodwink rider Billy Steinmann took the win.

We then held a game of skate around the entire park. Some absolute bangers went down, the game was genuinely insane. Local shredder Harry Bidwell went insane, like a steam train on a skateboard, he was unstoppable. Hauling meat and completely eating it. The best probably being Harry airing a good eight feet out of the jump box and his legs exploding into the splits as his slid the remainder of the ramp on his back. The game ended with a half an hour battle between Harry and Billy, with Billy finally taking the crown with a back side Benihanna from the quarter to bank gap.
