The GoPro Mission 1 Pro is part of a whole new line of compact cinematic cameras that are designed to go beyond what the HERO cameras could do. The main change is the larger 1in sensor, this gives amazing low-light performance, 8K30 and 4K120 Open Gate video capture and top level resolutions and frame rates. This is along with things you would expect from GoPro of good battery life and thermal performance and also still waterproof to 20m!  The Mission 1 Pro are the worlds smallest, lightest and most rugged fully professional-grade cinematic camera, made for filmmakers, creators and enthusiasts.

 

Why would I want the Mission 1 Pro rather than HERO 13 Black Camera?

If you are serious about creation and cinematic filming then the Mission 1 Pro offers some amazing features for pro users like the open gate filming and high resolution and dynamic range. It can still be used for action shots but is a serious camera for people that know how to use the features. If you are after almost all POV and action shots and want full on action cam then the HERO range would still be better.
